You will need
Hiking shoes and warm, windproof clothes – dress according to the weather. Gloves and a beanie to fit under your helmet If you have long hair it’s recommended to braid it or tie it in a low bun.
Víkurbraut 5, Vík í Mýrdal, South Iceland (check map). Please arrive 10-15 minutes prior to your booking time.
Sometimes we need to change departure times slightly due to the weather. Please check your email before your booked time and leave us a phone number so we can call or text you in case we have to contact you with changes in schedule.
We meet up on location at Norður-Vík hostel. If you arrive early feel free to use the restroom facilities, make the use of Wi-Fi and sip on a cup of tea or coffee before our guides arrive to meet you. You will be briefed on safety protocols, get dressed up in a harness and helmet and drive to the zipline starting point. We start by hiking to the first of 4 ziplines. We will give you detailed safety instructions and make sure you are comfortable with what to do during the experience so you will enjoy our ziplines to the fullest and stay safe. Once you’re ready then you wait your turn and next thing you know, you are zipping above the canyon, heart pumping with excitement on our two first ziplines, Big Rush and The Gentle Giant. Then we take a short hike through amazing rock formation of Grafargil (Grave Canyon) to the next activity, named Leap of Faith. Lastly, the last zip-line that we call Big Rush, it will take you over a stunning waterfall, named Hundafoss. Last but not least we have a short hike back to our base if the weather permits, if not, we drive.
The Soup Company
Next thing on the menu is a delicious soup at a small family-owned restaurant in the heart of Vík, The Soup Company. Here you can have your choice of one of their heartwarming soup of the day. Usually, they have at least five different kinds of soup and there’s always a vegan/vegetarian option.
Icelandic Lava show
Last but not least, you’ll be attending the 5 o’clock viewing of the Icelandic Lava Show. This is the only place in the world where you can safely experience hot molten lava in close proximity. The show recreates a volcano eruption, similar to what Eyjafjallajökull and Katla volcano are famous for, by pouring molten lava (1100°C / 2000°F) into the showroom and over ice. It is an epic battle between the elements and a unique opportunity to get close to red-hot lava, see it flowing, hear it sizzling, and feel the intense heat that radiates from it. A true fiest for all the senses.

NEED SOMETHING MORE CUSTOM? YOU DREAM IT, WE’LL MAKE IT HAPPEN
Do you have a big group or just a small group wanting privacy. Want to entertain your staff or add on to the activities in Vík. Whatever it is we can cuztomize it to your needs. Get in touch.
Remamber your hiking boots! You will be travelling in Iceland, our terrain is mostly untouched and we would like to keep it that way. That’s why we don’t make huge walking paths in the landscape but follow narrow and uneven sheep trails along our trails. Hiking boots help you when the route is wet and slippery and support your ankles if you are unused to walking on uneven surface.
